ELECTRONICS
In response to the growing
demand for national supply sources, the Company in the early seventies
began to divert part of its work force to the production of microwave
components. The growing importance of this area let to the
setting up of separate Electronics sector within the Company.
In the beginning the new sectors's activities were limited to producing, assembling and testing systems on behalf of third parties. The aquisition of the basic technologies and advanced know-how made it possible for the Company to venture into the design field which enabled it to start the production of electromechanical
and electronic equipment of its own. This became an integral important part of the Company.
A wide range of specific M.E.S. products is therefore available today,
which include the following:
- Multiple rotative collectors
- Rotating joints for X video bands (mono and multichannel)
- Static converters (small and medium power)
- Safety and arming devices for missiles
- Control devices for aircraft landing gear
- Threat adaptive CHAFF & FLARE dispensing system for helicopters and aircrafts
- Sonobuoy Dispenser Systems for helicopters and aircrafts
- Light Store Dispensing Systems
Continuing its activities in this sector, M.E.S. also produces, assemblies and tests the following on behalf of third parties:
- Control stations for acquisition radars
- Transmitters and power packs for radar apparatus
- Microwave antenna systems for missiles
- Microwaves subsystems (directional couplers, filters, etc.)
- Antenna bases and radar antennas
- Interlocks for data control and replay
- Telemetering equipments for missiles
M.E.S. has also acquired a number of foreign licences
for the production of the following equipment:
- Artillery muzzle velocity radars
- North orientation devices for field use
- Laser range finders for field use
- Inertial land navigation equipments
