In 1980 a new activity began. The Company set up its optronic division, as a natural consequence of its already intense commitment in the electronic sector and the great market demand for the ever more sophisticated technologies.
M.E.S. now offers the following principal products
in the optronics sector:
- Panoramic periscopes providing passive day and night vision for tanks and armoured vehicles
- Night passive drivers for tanks and armoured vehicles
- Daylight periscopes for tanks and armoured vehicles
- Light intensifier (LI) night and day light periscopes for spotting and aiming
- Night and day sight for light weapon
- Night vision monoculars and bi-oculars
The latest area in wich M.E.S. is devoting its attention to is the thermal vision. In this field the Company is evaluating cooperation opportunities with major International producers.
